Coastwise Capital, LLC has just opened registration for their 3rd annual Coastwise Mile and 5k @ www.coastwisemile.com. This is a great event in beautiful La Jolla, CA for everyone to join. There will be events for all ages 2-year-old toddlers, animal lovers, the most seasoned athletes and companies looking for a little competition in the corporate team relays. Last year there were over 1,000 participants, this year they hope to increase their numbers substantially.
Coastwise capital is inviting everyone to race along the beautiful La Jolla Cove. There will a raffle ($10/per ticket) and all of the proceeds directly benefit Scripps Park Project and the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA. For all you dog lovers out there this is a great race for you and your dog to do some serious bonding. There will be a special mutt mile and a doggy costume contest.
Last year’s winners were Jon Rankin came in 1st place for elite men at 4:09. Grace Padilla came in 1st for Elite Women with a time of 5:04. Start training now and you could have a chance to take 1st Place.
The beneficiaries of this race are the true winners and in need of everyone’s help, especially all you local and native La Jollans and San Diegans. The Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Park and the San Diego Humane Society will be benefiting from this event. The Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Park has been an integral part of La Jolla since 1887 and has kept the 5.6 acres surrounding the cove and adjacent beaches and other natural surroundings safe, beautiful and available for locals and visitors from all over the world to enjoy.
It is essential that all those that enjoy the La Jolla Cove give back and ensure the well being a true La Jolla Jewel. The San Diego Humane Society will be the other beneficiary since 1880 the San Diego Humane society has been serving the community by providing shelter to animals in need, adoptive services, special training courses, and emergency rescue to animals.
The Coastwise Mile will be on October 2, 2010. The sun should be shinning so venture down to the La Jolla Cove for a great event.
